उत्तमः सेवापाठः

कस्मिंश्चित् ग्रामे कश्चन परिवारः प्रतिवेशिगृहिण्या ग्राममगमनप्रसङ्गे परिवारं पाकसाहाय्यार्थं प्रार्थितः । गृहिणी नित्यं गृहद्वयस्य कृते पाकं करोति स्म । तस्याः पुत्रः एतदवलोक्य मातरम् अपृच्छत् यत् आदौ परेषां कार्यं कर्तव्यं खलु? तस्य जिज्ञासया प्रसन्ना सा परसेवायाः महत्त्वं, प्रतिवेशिनः कृते उष्णभोजनं श्रेयस्करं इति च व्याख्यातवती । बालः तस्याः भावम् अवगत्य सेवाविषये बहुमूल्यं पाठं पठितवान् । पश्चात् "विनोबा भावे" इति नाम्ना प्रथितः अभवत् ।
