Many of us may feel confidence or boasting are both bad words for Christians, but scripture does not see it this way. John talks about what it means to have a healthy confidence or boasting in God. He also talks about how many people have grown up with the exact opposite feeling concerning their salvation. Instead of boasting or confidence, many experience anxiety, isolation, inadequacy and a sense of doubt about whether they will be saved. What does scripture say about these things?
