सत्यनिष्ठा सुहृत्प्रीतिः च

कदाचित् अन्यस्मिन् देशे कश्चन वणिक् लघुनः अपराधस्य निमित्तं कारागारे स्थापितः आसीत् । तस्य शूलारोपम् आदिष्टवान् राजा । सः वणिक् राज्ञे निवेदितवान् यत् गृहं गत्वा यद्यत् करणीयं स्यात् तत्सर्वं निर्वर्त्य वर्षाभ्यन्तरे प्रत्यागमिष्यामि इति । तस्य स्थाने तस्य मित्रं कारागारे स्थापितः आसीत् । वर्षम् अतीतम् । तस्य मित्रस्य शूलारोपस्य समयः आगतः । तावता धावन् तत्र आगतः सः वणिक् । बहुविधान् विघ्नान् अपाकृत्य मित्रस्य मरणदण्डनात् पूर्वम् आगतस्य वणिजः असाधारणीं सत्यनिष्ठां सुहृत्प्रीतिं च दृष्ट्वा राजा वणिजः दण्डनम् अपाकृतवान् ।

In another land, a merchant was imprisoned for a minor offense. The king ordered him to be executed by impalement. The merchant pleaded to return home, settle his affairs, and come back within a year. In his place, his friend was kept in prison. A year passed, and the time for the friend’s execution arrived. Just then, the merchant rushed back, having overcome many obstacles, and reached before his friend’s punishment was carried out. Witnessing such extraordinary loyalty and truthfulness, the king canceled the merchant’s sentence.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
