Abortion has been illegal in Texas except to save the mother’s life, so most people assume it isn’t happening here. Carolyn of Involved for Life says otherwise. In this live conversation, she explains how abortion has moved from clinics to chemical abortion pills ordered online. They’re sold from more than 90 sites with no exam and no ID check, and most are now taken at home without a doctor.
Carolyn has spent 30 years in this work and left a banking career to do it. She shares the organization’s mission: to educate and empower women to make life-affirming choices, without pressure or a “bait and switch.” She also explains who comes through the doors of their two North Texas clinics. Many people are surprised to hear it’s mostly women aged 25 to 35 who are worried about their careers. About 60% of the women they serve choose life, and support continues until the child’s third birthday.
She also answers a hard question from the room: why should a group of men care? Her answer: men were made to be protectors and providers, and many women are waiting to hear a man say, “I’ll be there. We’ll raise this child together.”
The episode also covers how the organization is funded, how churches can get involved, and the ambassadors who helped save lives this past year.
