Why does God do everything for his own glory, and is that selfish? In Ephesians 1:3–14, we discover that God alone is worthy of all praise and that his commitment to his own glory is actually the guarantee of our greatest and everlasting joy. Because God sovereignly accomplishes his purposes and has secured our inheritance through the Holy Spirit, we can pursue our deepest happiness in him, persevere through hardship, and live for the praise of his glory.
