What do you do when God has placed a dream, promise, or desire in your heart—but it still hasn’t happened?

David had already been anointed to become king, but the promise wasn’t in his hands yet. When Saul unexpectedly became vulnerable, David had the opportunity to take matters into his own hands. Instead, he chose patience, integrity, and trust in God.
Sometimes an open door isn’t automatically God’s will. An opportunity may look like the answer you’ve been praying for, but following God requires discernment, patience, and the willingness to wait.
