People, Planet, Progress

On the May 27th Climate Report we run through the latest blows to fossil fuels and oil multinationals, from major court rulings that are putting pressure on them from the outside, to shareholder rebellions that are squeezing them from the inside. Chevron, Shell, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Whitehaven Coal…the handwriting is on the wall and the end of the carbon-heavy fossil fuel age is fast approaching.

Then we touch on upcoming alternatives to carbon-heavy travel, specifically in the realm of air transport, as environmentally-friendly hybrid airships – aka blimps – are in the works for taking care of shorter city-to-city trips under 250 miles. Seattle to Vancouver is one of the first routes planned for 2025.

Lastly, we spend some time on an important topic: how the climate crisis is impacting mental health, and is a hidden unaccounted-for cost to society, and how taking personal climate action has positive impacts on mental health from the individual to community level.
