00:01:35.839 And every single time I see one of these posts, I'm like, you know, Bitcoin solves this problem. 00:01:35.839 --> 00:01:37.839 People like you don't need to suffer from inflation. 00:01:37.839 --> 00:01:38.839 Bitcoin solves this problem. 00:01:38.839 --> 00:01:46.839 And it just turns into this unbelievable like roast of me for suggesting a solution to inflation. 00:01:46.839 --> 00:01:49.839 And so that's kind of where it comes from. 00:01:49.839 --> 00:01:52.839 And it's just like you go through and you start to read these replies and the replies 00:01:52.839 --> them, the Cantillion effect, on people who have no idea what's 00:04:16.839 --> 00:04:20.839 going on because then they're just confused and they're mad at somebody else because they 00:04:20.839 --> 00:04:22.839 see somebody else has more. 00:04:22.839 --> 00:04:26.839 But then you're actually sitting there fat and happy as the people who are the purveyors 00:04:26.839 --> 00:04:30.839 of this sitting there talking to the camera about how from a very young age he was just different 00:05:36.839 --> 00:05:37.839 than everybody else. 00:05:37.839 --> 00:05:42.839 And, you know, he basically his channel is about minimalism and he decided that he wanted 00:05:42.839 --> 00:05:46.839 to make weird music and there wasn't any money to be made in it. 00:05:46.839 --> 00:05:51.839 So the only option that he had was to just get his expenses as low as possible. 00:05:51.839 --> 00:05:55.839 And the whole video, he's just trying to figure out what this feeling is that he has, that 00:05:55.839 --> 00:05:58.839 the world is just this ruthless place full of hostility. 00:05:58.839 --> 00:06:02.839 And basically he's figuring out that everything is a scam. 00:06:02.839 --> 00:06:08.839 But in the video, he doesn't come to the conclusion that Bitcoin is the solution. 00:06:08.839 --> 00:06:14.839 And there another video that I got sent yesterday was this director, James Gray, saying that 00:06:14.839 --> 00:06:18.839 the problem in the world was capitalism. 00:06:19.839 --> 00:06:26.839 And he did a commercial for Bleu de Chanel, which is, you know, a luxury brand. 00:06:26.839 --> 00:06:30.839 And he's done these movies that are multi-million dollar budget movies. 00:06:30.839 --> 00:06:32.839 And his problem is capitalism. 00:06:32.839 --> 00:06:34.839 His problem is free markets. 00:06:34.839 --> 00:06:39.839 And yet he didn't come to the conclusion that Bitcoin is the solution. 00:06:41.839 --> 00:06:42.839 What do we do? 00:06:42.839 --> 00:06:43.839 foundation 00:08:14.839 --> 00:08:17.839 that the economic system sits on top of and they're separate. 00:08:17.839 --> 00:08:19.839 And that's what people have a very hard time. 00:08:19.839 --> 00:08:21.839 And then you go back to like, well, why don't people know that? 00:08:21.839 --> 00:08:22.839 Well, you guys alluded to it. 00:08:22.839 --> 00:08:24.839 Everyone's on an inflationary hamster wheel. 00:08:24.839 --> 00:08:25.839 Like it is a fish. 00:08:25.839 --> 00:08:26.839 No, he's wet. 00:08:26.839 --> 00:08:27.839 He's been in the water his whole life. 00:08:27.839 --> chat GPT or they accept 00:08:47.840 --> 00:08:51.840 this technology so quickly, like millions of dollars in a day or millions, you know, 00:08:51.840 --> 00:08:52.840 tens of millions in a month. 00:08:52.840 --> 00:08:57.840 But yet Bitcoin, it's like this, the superior monetary technology money we've ever seen. 00:08:57.840 --> 00:09:00.840 And it's just like, it's like pulling teeth, like not looking to give you more power, not looking to change the school system, to 00:09:21.840 --> 00:09:25.840 change media, to change, you know, popular culture in order to give you more of that more of these things to happen, more wars in order to keep getting these lessons? 00:10:10.840 --> 00:10:11.840 Or how fast are we going to do that? 00:10:11.840 --> 00:10:14.840 And I know that's what you guys alluded to earlier, it's how can we move this forward faster and 00:10:23.840 --> 00:10:28.840 move this new system so that we're not continually hurting ourselves in the process? literally cranks out scam and then people get burned by the 00:11:23.840 --> 00:11:26.840 scam and they conflate that with Bitcoin. 00:11:26.840 --> 00:11:28.840 And then we were talking about it before the show. 00:11:28.840 --> 00:11:34.840 I mean, Anton is like, there's a difference between somebody who like can't learn math 00:11:34.840 --> 00:11:36.840 or doesn't understand math, right? scam has done to Bitcoin. 00:11:57.840 --> 00:12:02.840 People literally think Bitcoin is evil and they will literally do whatever they can to 00:12:02.840 --> 00:12:03.840 not engage with it. --> 00:12:25.840 One of the reasons why people don't go and learn about Bitcoin is because you can still 00:12:25.840 --> 00:12:32.840 make money even though there's the amount of inflation that there to Los Angeles over 20 years ago and it had its problems then, but it was 00:13:03.840 --> 00:13:04.840 a different place. 00:13:04.840 --> 00:13:07.840 It was a much more fun place to live, a much easier place to live. 00:13:08.840 --> 00:13:13.840 And I go outside now and I walk to the end of my street and there's a different person 00:13:13.840 --> 00:13:17.840 sleeping on the sidewalk every single day at the end of my own street. 00:13:17.840 --> 00:13:26.840 And so us Bitcoiners, we see that the world's getting worse and we look for a solution. 00:13:26.840 --> 00:13:30.840 The massive difference with Bitcoin is that there is nobody at the helm of Bitcoin. 00:13:30.840 --> 00:13:31.840 There's nobody running it. 00:13:32.840 --> 00:13:39.840 The problem with these altcoins is they all serve one purpose and that is just to make 00:13:39.840 --> 00:13:43.840 somebody money by extracting value out of the consumer. 00:13:43.840 --> 00:13:45.840 That's the only purpose they serve. yeah, I guess what we're trying to do in this is just to convince everyone that 00:13:56.840 --> 00:13:59.840 every single thing is a scam. 00:13:59.840 --> 00:14:00.840 There is no next Bitcoin. what's really interesting is the propagation of Bitcoin in a similar manner to the gospel, 00:17:09.839 --> 00:17:13.839 because, you know, Christ had his first followers and then he had his 12 disciples. 00:17:13.839 --> 00:17:18.839 And then from 12 to 72 and like just this slow, incremental grind. 00:17:18.839 --> 00:17:25.839 And throughout that process, people were literally being like To protect that story and to protect that what it is. 00:17:27.839 --> 00:17:31.839 And I think that's similar to what we're seeing going on and in Bitcoin. 00:17:31.839 --> 00:17:43.839 But coming back to the scam thing is the the reason for the vitriol in terms of anything that is good, 00:17:43.839 --> 00:17:48.839 that's counter to the spam, excuse me, the scam. 00:17:48.839 --> 00:17:53.839 Is because somebody is losing something, you know, it goes to what Elon said, 00:17:53.839 --> 00:17:57.839 if you guys have seen this Doge thing is Elon said when he was at PayPal, 00:17:57.839 --> 00:18:01.839 he's like what we've noticed with with the IRS when they're like cutting all this, 00:18:01.839 --> 00:18:07.839 cutting all the stuff, the beginning with Doge is he's like the people who scream the loudest are usually the fraudsters. 00:18:07.839 --> 00:18:16.839 And it's this really weird dichotomy of like human nature that if you can justify what you're doing in any way, 00:18:16.839 --> 00:18:20.839 shape or form, actually, there's a video I think on I think CNN posted it a couple of weeks ago 00:18:20.839 --> 00:18:23.839 or it might have been like last week where they're talking like one of the cartels, 00:18:23.839 --> 00:18:27.839 which is kind of hilarious. They're like talking to these cartels and like trying to make them the good guys. 00:18:27.839 --> 00:18:34.839 But the thing was, the cartel guys rebuttal to the woman's like, do you have any like, like, why are you doing this? 00:18:34.839 --> 00:18:41.839 She's like, I got to eat. And that's the truth is that the truth of what he said is that he has found a way to justify what he's doing, 00:18:41.839 --> 00:18:46.839 like child sex, sex traffickers or whatever these people are who are doing like negative things. 00:18:46.839 --> 00:18:55.839 You find a way to justify the the the ends. And so by whatever means necessary, scamming people, you're willing to do it. 00:18:55.839 --> 00:19:07.839 And so I'd be curious, you know, the take for many of you all of like. Can we like where do we need to start to kind of change that? 00:19:08.839 --> 00:19:14.839 Like is it is the issue there like means have just kind of become irrelevant. 00:19:14.839 --> 00:19:22.839 People are just like, you know, job hopping or whatever it is because because of the way that works or is the is the bigger issue like families 00:19:22.839 --> 00:19:27.839 and culture like kids are not being trained properly to understand like, hey, this is the end. 00:19:27.839 --> 00:19:32.839 And so, you know, there actually are ways to get to that end that are not actually good. 00:19:33.839 --> 00:19:42.839 So one thing that comes to mind when you're talking about this is the idea of there's somebody who is like screaming the loudest about it. 00:19:42.839 --> 00:19:46.839 Well, they're probably the ones leading the scam, the ones who benefit from the scam. Right. 00:19:46.839 --> 00:19:52.839 But then there's everybody else who like steps in and defends them, like voluntarily defends them. 00:19:52.839 --> 00:19:58.839 And, you know, again, referencing the thread like came, you see this like you just see it all the time. 00:19:58.839 --> 00:20:01.839 And you kind of have to think back, like, why is this even happening? 00:20:01.839 --> 00:20:05.839 And they're like, there's the famous quote, some somebody, if maybe you guys know who it is. 00:20:05.839 --> 00:20:15.839 But it's like, remember, when you're arguing with like a boomer or an NPC or somebody who essentially gets all their information from the TV, 00:20:15.839 --> 00:20:23.839 you're not arguing with a person. You're arguing with a talking head that isn't even processing the thoughts. 00:20:23.839 --> 00:20:28.839 Right. You're just you're arguing with the TV. There's no process of thought there. 00:20:28.839 --> 00:20:32.839 So how does it switch? Well, maybe it never switches. 00:20:32.839 --> 00:20:38.839 Maybe there's just always going to be the ninety seven percent that are always just NPCs. 00:20:38.839 --> 00:20:41.839 The thing that that's different, it goes back to Brandon's point. 00:20:41.839 --> 00:20:47.839 It's like, well, wait a second. As Bitcoin monetizes, all the bitcoiners are going to have all the agency. 00:20:47.839 --> 00:20:50.839 Like we're the ones who are essentially going to be setting the culture. 00:20:50.839 --> 00:20:56.839 We're going to be the revolutionaries who are, you know, standing up to the British where everyone else is kind of not participating. 00:20:56.839 --> 00:21:02.839 And then all the NPCs that's going to switch and they're going to be defending Bitcoin, 00:21:02.839 --> 00:21:06.839 even if they don't understand what they're doing or what they're saying. 00:21:06.839 --> 00:21:14.839 Like they're going to be on our side defending us against the Fed or against whoever else is trying to attack Bitcoin. 00:21:14.839 --> 00:21:17.839 It's like that idea is really interesting to me. 00:21:17.839 --> 00:21:19.839 I don't I'm not going to say that's true. 00:21:19.839 --> 00:21:27.839 And I honestly it's kind of depressing because I'd like to believe that anybody can go through the process of learning Bitcoin 00:21:27.839 --> 00:21:32.839 and figuring it out and thinking for themselves and understanding what we're dealing with, 00:21:32.839 --> 00:21:38.839 understanding reality and how to interact with reality. But sometimes. 00:21:38.839 --> 00:21:42.839 Let me tell a story of how I got scammed. 00:21:42.839 --> 00:21:48.839 And this is this is not about Bitcoin, but it somehow led me to Bitcoin. 00:21:48.839 --> 00:21:57.839 I am a cinematographer by trade and I was downtown and my job was to film an overnight time lapse. 00:21:57.839 --> 00:22:03.839 I was on Los Angeles Street in downtown L.A. two in the morning. 00:22:03.839 --> 00:22:10.839 Don't ever go to that area in the middle of the night. It's such a dangerous place. 00:22:10.839 --> 00:22:14.839 I'm standing in this parking lot and I'm I'm with a friend who I'm working with. 00:22:14.839 --> 00:22:24.839 And this older man comes up to us and he's like, yo, bro, I was I was cleaning this house up in up at Altadena. 00:22:24.839 --> 00:22:28.839 And I found these old silver coins. You want to buy them from me? 00:22:28.839 --> 00:22:31.839 I've never seen a silver coin at this point in my life. 00:22:31.839 --> 00:22:36.839 And they had the dates on them were like 1778 or 1812. 00:22:36.839 --> 00:22:40.839 I don't know. And I'm playing with the coins and looking at them like these are really cool. 00:22:40.839 --> 00:22:44.839 I mean, they've got to be worth something. I don't know what they're made out of. I don't know what they are. 00:22:44.839 --> 00:22:50.839 And so my friend and I, we put 50 bucks together, split it between the two of us. 00:22:50.839 --> 00:22:53.839 Each of us took a coin. And the next day I went to a coin shop. 00:22:53.839 --> 00:22:57.839 And the second I pulled this coin out, the guys at the coin shop were like, what? 00:22:57.839 --> 00:23:01.839 Let me see that. You actually bought one of these. Oh, I haven't seen one of these in a long time. 00:23:01.839 --> 00:23:05.839 And they flipped it in their hand, went dunk and came back down. 00:23:05.839 --> 00:23:09.839 And he's like, yeah, this is made out of some pot metal. These come from China. 00:23:09.839 --> 00:23:14.839 I can't believe you bought these. How much you pay for these? And there's a laughing in my face. 00:23:14.839 --> 00:23:20.839 OK, so I bought fake metal coins and wasted 50 bucks. 00:23:20.839 --> 00:23:26.839 A lot of people could have that experience and then be so embarrassed that they would never buy a coin again. 00:23:26.839 --> 00:23:34.839 It actually led me to getting educated on what a silver coin is and what numismatic coins are and how they have value. 00:23:34.839 --> 00:23:39.839 Which eventually I stopped investing in those and started investing in Bitcoin. 00:23:39.839 --> 00:23:44.839 Had I invested in Bitcoin at the time, I would have many millions of dollars in Bitcoin. 00:23:44.839 --> 00:23:52.839 But that's one way to respond to a scam. That's the positive way is to learn how you got scammed, why you got scammed. 00:23:52.839 --> 00:23:57.839 Have the humility to realize that you have the naivety to get scammed. 00:23:57.839 --> 00:24:02.839 Realize that there are bad people out there trying to scam you and then figure out what to do about it. 00:24:02.839 --> 00:24:07.839 So I don't know if you guys want to tell any stories of how you got scammed. It could be interesting. 00:24:07.839 --> 00:24:14.839 Yeah, I think that's a great way to start it, too. Let me tell you a story about how I got scammed. 00:24:15.839 --> 00:24:20.839 So I had a friend who and this is how I ended up eventually finding Bitcoin. 00:24:20.839 --> 00:24:25.839 But he had brought me a lot of really good investments and I didn't know anything about anything. 00:24:25.839 --> 00:24:29.839 And so I was just doing some stock stuff and he was like, hey, you know, and everything he brought me was like really good. 00:24:29.839 --> 00:24:33.839 You know, something's like 100 percent return. And I had like five dollars. So it's like, cool. 00:24:33.839 --> 00:24:41.839 And I have 10. But he brought me this NFT company and he was like, hey, man, there's this thing called NFTs. 00:24:41.839 --> 00:24:47.839 And I kind of heard about this stuff tangentially, you know, it was during the you know, right after like the 2017 bull run. 00:24:47.839 --> 00:24:51.839 And, you know, so there's like that hype in my head at least. 00:24:51.839 --> 00:24:57.839 And then he brought this to me and I knew nothing about anything. 00:24:57.839 --> 00:25:00.839 But I was just like, everybody that I'm talking with is talking about these things. 00:25:00.839 --> 00:25:06.839 And this guy has brought me good investments. And so I'll trust him and I'll go through it. 00:25:06.839 --> 00:25:20.839 And so basically kind of like walk through the process of like learning about NFTs and then just kind of like drinking the Kool-Aid of how awesome this stuff was and all the tokenization of everything and all that, you know, and just kind of like buying this thing. 00:25:20.839 --> 00:25:27.839 And I ended up going to NFT LA and like just kind of like again, like drinking to the fire hose of this excitement. 00:25:27.839 --> 00:25:33.839 Like Mark Cuban was there and like Busta Rhymes and like, you know, all just all these people like Tom Billy. 00:25:34.839 --> 00:25:41.839 Like there's a lot of really huge people on that stage. And I was like, oh, well, if all these guys are like bought into this, then it must be true. 00:25:41.839 --> 00:25:45.839 And so I had this like cult of personality that kind of was drawing me down this thing. 00:25:45.839 --> 00:25:48.839 And I didn't do any like positive research. 00:25:48.839 --> 00:25:57.839 And the guy who ended up eventually orange peeling me, which is when you really kind of understand Bitcoin, the whole time I'm going through this process, I'm like, hey, man, I'm going to do this NFT thing. 00:25:57.839 --> 00:26:03.839 Like I'm investing this company to all that stuff. It's like, don't do it. Don't do it, man. You're just going to get scammed. You're going to lose all your money. 00:26:03.839 --> 00:26:07.839 And I was like, nah, you're wrong. He's like, don't do it. And so I do NFT LA. 00:26:07.839 --> 00:26:17.839 It's like a one week break between NFT LA where I signed the contract like and write the check to go to this like chip coin company, essentially. 00:26:17.839 --> 00:26:23.839 And it was it was it was all of the money like disposable money I had to invest at that time. 00:26:23.839 --> 00:26:32.839 Like literally, I just put on one check and sent it off. Then that next week, I ended up going to the Miami Bitcoin conference in Orlando or Miami. 00:26:32.839 --> 00:26:44.839 And the first thing I think the first thing I heard was a talk by Texas Slim at a thing put on by Katie, the Russian called the Underground Citadel. 00:26:44.839 --> 00:26:51.839 And I was instantaneously orange billed. And I went and flipped all my coins into Bitcoin like I had like I was like, oh, diversification is good. 00:26:52.839 --> 00:27:00.839 And I called my buddy and I was like, hey, can I get that money back? Because I'd love to like not invest. 00:27:00.839 --> 00:27:04.839 I was like, no. And like, you know, six months later, the whole company went down. 00:27:04.839 --> 00:27:10.839 I lost every penny I put into it. But from that moment, I touched the stove, put my whole hand on it. 00:27:10.839 --> 00:27:18.839 And it just, you know, in the same way with Anton is I really quickly went to the fire hose or went down the rabbit hole back. 00:27:18.839 --> 00:27:25.839 And I was like, OK, what did this guy who was orange on me know that I didn't that made me make a bad decision because I made a bad decision. 00:27:25.839 --> 00:27:30.839 That was a lot of stupid tax very fast. And so but since that moment, it's like, you know, it's all gambling. 00:27:30.839 --> 00:27:36.839 You know, chip coins are gambling and I don't want to gamble with my kids future. I don't want to gamble with my kids, kids future. 00:27:36.839 --> 00:27:40.839 So it's just like I'm not a good investor. So I'm just going to do Bitcoin. I'm going to keep it simple. 00:27:41.839 --> 00:27:44.839 Yeah, that was my that was my scam story that brought me to Bitcoin. 00:27:48.839 --> 00:27:55.839 I've got I've basically been scammed three times, which is the. 00:27:56.839 --> 00:28:04.839 Anton, you've done this one as well. The online like remote mining contract scam got scammed out of one of those. 00:28:04.839 --> 00:28:09.839 The and then two exchange hacks. So I've been hacked on exchange two times. 00:28:10.839 --> 00:28:19.839 And it's like, wait a second. You go through the process and it's exactly like you said, Anton, which is, you know what? 00:28:21.839 --> 00:28:26.839 I I either need to never do this again or figure out what happened and what went wrong. 00:28:26.839 --> 00:28:29.839 Right. Take ownership, at least try and take ownership of the thing. Right. 00:28:29.839 --> 00:28:38.839 For me, the thing was I did not understand what I was doing. I needed to be more careful about where I keep my Bitcoin. Right. 00:28:39.839 --> 00:28:47.839 Like, OK, that's that's that's the lesson learned. And then you go from there and that's like so many people create these or go through the same process. 00:28:48.839 --> 00:28:53.839 How many people need to go through the same process? But that's where all the culture for like no keys, no cheese. 00:28:53.839 --> 00:28:58.839 Like if your coin is on exchange, it's not your coin. Right. And thank God for that stuff. 00:28:58.839 --> 00:29:02.839 But like, man, some people just need to learn myself, including the hard way. 00:29:04.839 --> 00:29:15.839 Yeah, I honestly I think that these are such great stories. And I think the other thing to do is is to remind ourselves of the system is designed to scam you. 00:29:15.839 --> 00:29:20.839 You know, so it's like it's not even that people are, you know, they're going with their best interest. 00:29:20.839 --> 00:29:25.839 And we've all we've all seen this and we've all had these roads we cross and everyone's built differently. 00:29:25.839 --> 00:29:31.839 But like in the last five years, right. Decisions you make me, J.D., you and I have talked about this relentlessly over the years. 00:29:31.839 --> 00:29:36.839 And some of the decisions I know you've made in your personal life, like going to bat for yourself and your own beliefs. 00:29:36.839 --> 00:29:42.839 I mean, holy cow. I mean, if everyone could act like that, some of the things you've done just to stand up for yourself and your family. 00:29:43.839 --> 00:29:49.839 I mean, kudos. And but the system is designed to go against truth. 00:29:49.839 --> 00:29:52.839 You know, again, we're in one in a fallen world, like we've mentioned earlier. 00:29:52.839 --> 00:29:57.839 So you have to start with that fact. Once you know that, then you can start operating easier in a way. 00:29:57.839 --> 00:30:02.839 And, you know, you're fighting that. And the system and then you get to the fiat system. 00:30:02.839 --> 00:30:09.839 So you have like the spiritual realm. But then once you get into this human realm, you're fighting in the system that's incentivized of worse behavior. 00:30:10.839 --> 00:30:16.839 It's incentivizing people to be at each other's throats, to put consumers and producers on either side of the table and combating each other. 00:30:16.839 --> 00:30:21.839 And this is a very weird concept. Most people just like you guys alluded to earlier, they say, you see the capitalism harder, bro. 00:30:21.839 --> 00:30:24.839 You just got to work harder. You got to hustle more. You got to grind more. 00:30:24.839 --> 00:30:28.839 You know, and it's just like we get caught up. And I was that guy 10 years ago, 15 years ago. 00:30:28.839 --> 00:30:31.839 Like that was me. You know, it's got to work harder. It's got to study more. 00:30:31.839 --> 00:30:34.839 And I put 10,000 hours in studying. You know, we're all the same age. 00:30:34.839 --> 00:30:38.839 I mean, I left Michigan State and oh, nine and the economy is collapsing. 00:30:38.839 --> 00:30:43.839 And I realized both these guys from the same team, Barack Obama, George Bush, they were doing the same stuff. 00:30:43.839 --> 00:30:46.839 Everyone in there, you know, in the cabinet was doing the same things. 00:30:46.839 --> 00:30:48.839 And I was like, just blew my mind. I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa. 00:30:48.839 --> 00:30:51.839 Like, what's going on here? I thought like one party was going to do this thing. 00:30:51.839 --> 00:30:53.839 Another party. No, no, no. They're all doing the same thing. 00:30:53.839 --> 00:30:58.839 And that's when I started going down. We drove from Jekyll Island, all these things and starts illuminating that the money is broken. 00:30:58.839 --> 00:31:02.839 The money is designed to scam you. So that way you are on this hamster wheel. 00:31:02.839 --> 00:31:06.839 You're on the treadmill and you go back to the Matrix. The Matrix analogy has got to be careful with them. 00:31:06.839 --> 00:31:13.839 But, you know, again, the cogs, the people in the in the cogs, that's humans on a hamster wheel, just paying endless taxes that aren't even there. 00:31:13.839 --> 00:31:22.839 They do it. There's a 1940s article in the American Affairs magazine that the New York Fed had literally admits taxes or revenue are obsolete. 00:31:22.839 --> 00:31:24.839 That's the that's the name of the article for crying out loud. 00:31:24.839 --> 00:31:31.839 And then he goes into bullet points of why they're obsolete and explicitly says it's there to coerce people to redistribute wealth. 00:31:31.839 --> 00:31:37.839 It's it's it's so out front and in the open in your face that it's almost like it's hiding in plain sight. 00:31:37.839 --> 00:31:41.839 And that's kind of why they do it as well.
