Matthew 5:1–12 (Beatitudes)
The kingdom's definition of "blessed" is the exact opposite of culture's and it's actually better.
1 Culture's version of blessed is a moving target. Have it together. Get ahead. Get seen. It's comparative and exhausting — and it's a documented driver of rising anxiety among 18–34-year-olds.
2 Jesus names the opposite conditions as the doorway to blessing. Poor in spirit, mourning, meek, hungry for righteousness — everything culture calls weakness, Jesus calls the entry point.
3 This blessing is received, not achieved and it changes what you carry into the world. It's grace, available now, not a status you earn later.
