Art Beat

Today on Art Beat, we go to the 18th annual Frozen River Film Festival and give you a peak into the world of short films from Winona's own emerging filmmakers.

This short film set and panel features key note speakers of Managing Director of the Frozen River Film Festival Eileen Moeller, Dr. Danielle Shwartz Assistant professor of Film studies and English at Winona State University, and some of the young emerging filmmakers themselves.

This local set also had the pleasure of including the world premiere of the short film Open Wide, a comedy horror film created by the members of the first FRFF Summer Filmmaking Intensive.

These emerging filmmakers may be young but their films and their passion speak well beyond their years.

I am Abby Hawkey join us as KQAL’s Ryan Flanders shares with you the highlights from the 2024 Frozen River Film Festival's Emerging Filmmakers, today on Art Beat.
