Performance Insights

In this episode of Performance Insights, we’re joined by ultra-endurance athlete Lyndsey Blair — the first Scot ever to conquer the Enduroman Arch to Arc challenge, one of the toughest endurance events in the world.

From Marble Arch in London to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, Lyndsey covered an 87-mile run, a solo English Channel swim, and a 181-mile cycle, completing the challenge in an astonishing 95 hours and 11 minutes.

Based in Ayrshire and a mother of three, Lyndsey didn’t enter triathlon until later in life — yet she’s gone on to compete in Ironman events, represent Team GB at age-group level, complete a Dover–Calais Channel swim, and receive Triathlon Scotland’s Inspirational Performance of the Year award.

In this episode we will:
  • Discuss Lyndsey’s sporting history and what motivated her to get into ultra-endurance activities
  • Hear how she trains for her ultra-endurance challenges, balancing this with her family and work commitments
  • Learn about the recent challenges she’s had to overcome during the Enduroman Arch to Arc and what lessons she’s learnt that we can all apply
If you’re interested in endurance, resilience, mindset, or doing hard things when the odds feel stacked against you, this is an episode you don’t want to miss.

What is Performance Insights?

Welcome to Performance Insights

Our infinite purpose is to energise the individual and optimise their performance. We want to give the athlete the framework, the knowledge and tools, so that you can train consistently, recover quicker and perform for longer.

The aim of our Performance Insight sessions is to share and discuss information on why we train the way that we train to optimise our performance and to get inspired from high performance guest speakers.
