कुशलस्य सत्यनिष्ठा

पूर्वं सारङ्गिपुरनामके राज्ये कुशलनामकः युक्तिशाली मन्त्री आसीत् । सः न केवलं धीमान् अपि तु सत्यनिष्ठापरः प्रभुनिष्ठापरः च आसीत् । कदाचित् अन्यदेशे निवसन् तदीयः जामाता गृहम् आगतः । यदा तौ राजमार्गे गच्छन्तौ आस्तां तदा जामाता राज्ञः सैन्यशक्तिविषयम् अपृच्छत् । राज्यस्य आन्तरिकः विषयाः कस्मैचिदपि कदापि न वक्तव्याः इति प्रतिज्ञातवान् आसीत् कुशलः । परिवारात् अपि राज्यं मुख्यम् इत्यतः राज्यसम्बद्धं विवरणं परिवारजनानां पुरतः न वदिष्यामि इत्युक्तवान् कुशलः । श्वशुरस्य सत्यनिष्ठापरतां स्वामिनिष्ठां च दृष्ट्वा जामाता सन्तुष्टान्तरङ्गः जातः ।

Long ago, in the kingdom of Sārangapura, there was a wise minister named Kushala. He was not only intelligent but also deeply devoted to truth and loyalty to his king. Once, his son-in-law, who lived in another country, came to visit. As they walked along the royal road, the son-in-law asked about the king’s military strength. Kushala, who had vowed never to reveal internal matters of the kingdom to anyone, replied: “The kingdom is more important than family. Therefore, I will not disclose state secrets even before my relatives”. Seeing his father-in-law’s steadfastness in truth and loyalty, the son-in-law felt deeply satisfied and inspired.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
