OUR THOUGHTS OF GOD ARE TOO HUMAN – Martin Luther
 
Let me show you 4 things this passage is saying, and then 4 steadfast truths in here where our hope is permanently anchored!


1) OUR HOPE IS ONLY AS STRONG AS OUR VIEW OF GOD 13, 16, 17
2) A PROMISE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE ONE WHO MAKES IT 13-16
3) GOD GUARANTEES HIS PROMISES ON TWO UNCHANGEABLE THINGS 17-18
1.  HIS CHARACTER – WHO GOD IS (core, heart, essence)
2.  HIS WORD – WHAT GOD SAYS

4) THE PROMISES WE FIND IN THE BIBLE ARE UNCHANGEABLE WORDS FROM AN UNCHANGEABLE GOD
 
WHERE DO WE FIND LASTING HOPE?
- IN GOD, WHO CAN’T LIE
- IN GOD, WHO WON’T CHANGE
- IN CHRIST, WHO GOES BEHIND THE CURTAIN
- IN CHRIST, WHO GOES THERE ON OUR BEHALF.
