#5Things: This Week in Social

This week on the #5Things, we talk AI DJs, verification, authentication, Corecore and moremore...

The Things:
  1. Meta rolls out Meta Verified for IG & FB:  this new paid verification subscription is an attempt to increase authenticity and security across Meta services.
  2. Twitter limits 2-factor authentication: new updates to Twitter Blue limits text message authentication to non-subscribers.
  3. YouTube Tests Podcast features: the platform is developing more podcast tools to align with growing audio usage.
  4. Spotify launches AI DJs: audio platform rolling out personalized music alongside AI-powered commentary.
  5. Corecore climbs the aesthetic ranks: the new video format attempts to discuss societal themes but many speculate that it may just be metacommentary, not radical art.
