Episode 6: The Return of Wailaki Cultural Fire

November 13, 2023--This episode of Unmanageable is a rebroadcast of a program first aired on KMUD Redwood Community Radio in Garberville California on October 31st. It features voices from the First Wailaki Cultural Burn in Southern Humboldt in 150 years, which happened at the So Hum Community Park on Thursday, October 19th. I was honored to be on site with the cultural burn crew, and my tape recorder, and I am pleased to share with you the incredible day that Indigenous fire returned to Southern Humboldt.
