Today‚Äôs Advent devotion from First Baptist Athens is offered by Marilee Rogers. Her devotion is based on the story from Luke 2:8-20. Shepherds in the fields receive the good news of the birth of a Savior. Hearing this, they go to Bethlehem to see what has been told them. Alan Hester provides the music to begin our devotion, which is followed by the reading of the scripture from New Revised Standard Version. 

What is Open to Explore Devotions?

The devotions for season 3 are offered daily during the season of Advent, beginning Sunday, November 28 and concluding on Christmas Day, Saturday December 25. Members from our congregation, men and women of various ages, offer a personal reflection on the question, "What gives you hope this advent and Christmas season?" Additionally, a verse from a featured carol is read each day by a youth, or child. The music performed and produced by Sarah DelBene.
