Regional Rasslin' - Territory Talk

This week's Regional Rasslin' begins another new project as longtime Los Angeles wrestling historian, superfan, and wrestler himself, Vandal Drummond joins the program! We set the stage for the "Dying Days of L.A." project where we will be talking the final years of the LeBell territory circa 1980-1982. But this week, Vandal goes back in time and talks the peaks and valleys of the old Hollywood Wrestling territory throughout the 1970s. From the Roddy Piper/Chavo Guerrero feud to the "Bionic Wrestler" Lars Anderson, from the over the top Terry Funk promos to losing the KCOP TV studios. We also discuss the announcers (both English & Spanish), Gordman & Goliath, The Hollywood Blondes, Titanes en el Ring, and everything else going on during the mid to late 70s on the local wrestling scene. Plus, who aided Dr. Jerry Graham in his brief run/departure from the west coast? All of that, and so much more! A fun interview throughout!

What is Regional Rasslin' - Territory Talk?

Before the national expansion of Pro Wrestling the business was split into many different regional promotions referred to as "the territories". Each territory competed within their own regional boundaries with unqiue wrestling stars, championship belts, and local TV. We talk the good old days from the territory era, from the AWA to JCP, New York to Los Angeles, Memphis to Mid-South, Portland to Florida, Stampede to Maple Leaf, Houston to Dallas, well... you get the point!
