KMOJ's Community Viewpoint

Let’s Talk Black Men & Health
Fellas — it’s time to talk about it.
High blood pressure, strokes, mental health, and the stigma of “toughing it out.” Too many of our brothers are fighting silent battles, and we’re saying no more.
Join us as we break down what’s really going on with Black men and their health — from physical to mental, from the doctor’s office to daily habits.
We’ll cover it all:
High blood pressure & stroke awareness Prostate and heart health
Stress, therapy, and breaking generational silence
Health habits that can save your life Plus — we’re opening up the phone lines!
We’ll also touch on Kirk Franklin’s powerful conversation about how Black men deal with stress, emotions, and healing — because that’s part of our health too.
Let’s change the narrative.
Because when Black men take care of their health, the whole community wins

What is KMOJ's Community Viewpoint?

“KMOJ’s Community Viewpoint” is a podcast series created by KMOJ-89.9 FM Radio “The People’s Station”. These conversations explore issues and perspectives critical to the health and well-being of all members of the communities of color we serve.
Since first going “on the air” in 1976, KMOJ-89.9-FM continues its legacy as the community-oriented station located in Minneapolis, Minnesota airing a predominantly urban adult contemporary format.
“KMOJ’s Community Viewpoint” is one way the station achieves its mission of engaging, supporting and empowering Communities of Color to elevate the way of life of the people of its community and to challenge social and economic disparities, and the persistent consequences of historic racism.
The station call letters, “KMOJ” were inspired by the Swahili word “UMOJA” which means “Unity.” http://kmojfm.com/
