समयोचिता युक्तिः

कदाचित् मरुप्रदेशे कश्चन स्पेन्-देशीयः वञ्चनया भारतीयस्य अश्वं हृत्वा तम् आरुह्य वेगेन गतवान् । भारतीयः कथञ्चित् स्पेनीयस्य दुर्बलम् अश्वम् आरुह्य स्पेनीयम् अनुसरन् समीपवर्तिग्रामं प्राप्य तत्रत्य न्यायाधीशं दृष्ट्वा स्पेनीयस्य दुष्कृत्यं सर्वं निवेदितवान् । न्यायाधीशेन पृष्टे सः स्पेनीयः आरोपं निराकरोति । तावता चतुरेण भारतीयेन काचित् युक्तिः प्रदर्शिता स्पेनीयः असत्यवादी इति निरूपितं च । भारतीयस्य बुद्धिमत्तां चातुर्यं च दृष्ट्वा न्यायाध्यक्षः सहर्षं तं प्रशस्य अश्वं तस्मै अदापयत् ।

Once, a Spaniard stole an Indian's horse in the desert and rode away quickly. The Indian, riding a weaker horse, followed the Spaniard and reached a nearby village. There, he told the local judge about the Spaniard's crime. When the judge asked the Spaniard, he denied the accusation. However, the Indian cleverly showed that the Spaniard was lying. Impressed by the Indian's intelligence, the judge happily praised him and returned the horse.
