When Liza and Frank, a mouse couple that lives in the walls of a small country church, are awakened by mysterious sounds in the church sanctuary, Frank gets up to investigate.
Chapel and Squeak are two rodent buddies (a mouse and a rat, respectively) who live in a community within the walls of an old—but still operating—country church. Set against the backdrop of the quiet little church, the animals carry out their adventures.
Chapel is a well-behaved mouse who wants nothing more than to do good. His best friend, Squeak, has a heart of gold, but is constantly getting into trouble and—way too often—dragging Chapel along with him.
Adventures abound as this core cast interacts with a host of quirky characters and tries to stay undercover from the humans, while also secretly helping out whenever they can.
