Originally founded in 1990, the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation began with a passionate group of Carlsbad citizens who wanted to ensure that the lagoon was protected and everyone could accessibly enjoy its beauty. Today, the Foundation holds true to its mission to inspire people through education and outreach to preserve the lagoon as a healthy and accessible watershed. Lisa and Samantha spearhead various operations to preserve the lagoon and its surrounding trails, as well as engage the community through restoration projects, the Discovery Center, after-school programs, and community-wide events.
