अहङ्कारी मशकः

कस्मिंश्चित् वने कश्चित् मशकः खलबुद्ध्या विनाकारणं कस्यचित् कर्णयोः कस्यचित् नासिकारन्ध्रे वा प्रविश्य तान् पशून् विचलितान् करोति स्म । सर्वे पशवः मिलित्वा मशकस्य अत्याचारविषयम् अवदन् । किन्तु सिंहः गजः च किमपि कर्तुम् अशक्तौ जातौ । सः मशकः अहङ्कारी भूत्वा पशून् अवदत् 'प्रतिदिनं भवत्सु अन्यतमः मम रुधिरपिपासां पूरयन्तु' इति । सर्वे पशवः अङ्गीकृतवन्तः । प्रथमः पर्यायः कस्यचित् कच्छपस्य आसीत् । सः कञ्चन उपायं कृत्वा अहङ्कारिणं मशकं मारितवान् ।

In a forest, a mischievous mosquito harassed animals by buzzing into their ears and nostrils. Frustrated, the animals gathered to complain, but even the mighty lion and elephant were powerless against it. Growing arrogant, the mosquito demanded that one of them daily satisfy its thirst for blood. The animals reluctantly agreed, and the first turn fell to a tortoise. Using a clever trick, the tortoise managed to kill the mosquito, ending its tyranny.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
