Welcome to episode #21! Our sexualized world is promoting and making way for hook-ups more than it has in 50 years. We're seeing the damage of it, but yet single people are pressured into dating and hooking up with others, just to be seen as valuable.
Be Proud Of Living Clean!
Because of how normalized the concept of hooking up is, we can sometimes feel like there's something wrong with us if we're not engaging in it - even if refraining is our choice. Be proud of yourself for making great decisions, staying pure, and setting yourself up for a greater future. You don't need to be embarrassed that you value sexual intimacy and stand out in a world that's experiencing so much dysfunction.
Sleeping Around Has A Price
No person, thing, or activity is going to satisfy us in the way that we're hoping for. Endless dating or sexual hook-ups leads to depression, an inability to be satisfied by, and loyal to, one person. The more sexual partners a person has before marriage (and during), the higher the likelihood is that they'll get divorced.
STI's Are More Prevalent Than Ever
Throughout North America (at least), we're experiencing what researchers say is a health crisis in terms of sexually transmitted infections. These infections can have dire consequences, so it's better to not roll the dice. More babies than ever are being stillborn, because syphilis can pass through the umbilical cord from the mother to the baby and cause huge damage.
Be A Person Of Honour
People who don't give into peer pressure, or the pressure of the world, are extremely attractive. People take note of their character and respect them way more for not engaging in the same damaging behaviour that everyone else seems to be finding fun in.
