सत्सङ्गस्य श्रेष्ठत्वम्

कदाचित् विश्वामित्रस्य तपोबलं श्रेष्ठम् उत वसिष्ठस्य सत्सङ्गफलं श्रेष्ठम् इति प्रश्नः उद्भूतः । तद्विषये निर्णयं कर्तुं तौ ब्रह्मणः समीपं गतवन्तौ किन्तु ब्रह्मा विष्णोः समीपं प्रेषयति । विष्णुः शिवस्य समीपं, शिवः आदिशेषस्य समीपं प्रेषयति च । विश्वामित्रवसिष्ठयोः विवादं श्रुत्वा आदिशेषः अवदत् 'भवतोः कोऽपि स्वप्रभावेण मम मस्तकस्थां पृथिवीं क्षणकालं यावत् आकाशे निरालम्बां धारयतु' इति । महर्षिः विश्वामित्रः  हस्तेन जलं गृहीत्वा सङ्कल्पं कृतवान् 'मया कृतस्य एकसहस्रवर्षात्मकस्य तपसः बलेन एषा पृथिवी अन्तरिक्षे निरालम्बा तिष्ठतु' इति । किन्तु पृथिवी किञ्चिदपि उपरि न स्थिता । ततः वसिष्ठः 'मया कृतस्य अर्धघटिकात्मस्य सत्सङ्गस्य बलेन पृथिवी अन्तरिक्षे तिष्ठतु' इति । आश्चर्यम्! पृथिवी अन्तराले निरालम्बा अतिष्ठत् ।

A debate arose about whether Vishvamitra’s power of penance or Vasishtha’s spiritual wisdom was superior. Seeking a decision, they approached Brahma, who directed them to Vishnu, then to Shiva, and finally to Adishesha. Adishesha challenged them, saying, “With your own abilities, hold the Earth, resting on my head, suspended in the sky for a moment”. Vishvamitra declared, “By the strength of my thousand-year-long penance, let the Earth remain suspended!” But nothing happened. Then Vasishtha proclaimed, “By the power of just half an hour of spiritual wisdom, let the Earth stay in space!” Miraculously, the Earth floated effortlessly. Thus, Vasishtha’s wisdom proved stronger than Vishvamitra’s penance.

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।

Among these, the children's stories titled “Balamodini” are featured. The series is named “Balamodini” as well. The hallmark of these stories is their short length and simple language. Each story imparts a specific moral lesson. Children’s stories are cherished by everyone, young and old alike. It is believed that listeners will appreciate this effort to make these stories available in Sanskrit. These are the first stories to be podcasted in the Sanskrit language within this field.
