आज्ञापालकः शिष्यः

समर्थरामदासस्य गुरुकुले अम्बादासः नाम कश्चन शिष्यः आसीत् यस्य अप्रतिमा गुरुभक्तिः आसीत् । अतः एव रामदासस्य विशेषप्रीतिः असीत् तस्मिन् । किन्तु अन्ये शिष्याः एतत् न सहन्ते स्म । कदाचित् रामदासः अम्बादासं बिल्ववृक्षस्य शाखां कर्तयितुम् अवदत् ।  अम्बादासः गुरोः आज्ञाम् अनुसृत्य, तद्वृक्षस्य शाखां कर्तयितुम् आरूढवान् । भाराधिक्यात् शाखा छिन्ना जाता । सः कूपे अपतत्। पतनसमये श्रीरामस्य स्मरणं अकरोत् । कूपे तु भगवान् श्रीरामः दृष्टः । अन्ये शिष्याः कूपे पतितं तं दृष्ट्वा रामदासं गृहीत्वा आगतवन्तः । सहपाठिभिः प्रेषितायाः रज्ज्वाः साहाय्येन उपरि आगतवन्तम् अम्बादासं आलिङ्ग्य अवदत् - 'वत्स! आज्ञपालकः शिष्यः भवान् ।  इतः परं भवतः नाम 'कल्याणः' इति ।

In the gurukul of Samarth Ramdas, there was a disciple named Ambadas who had absolute dedication to his guru. Thus, Ramdas had special affection for him. However, the other disciples could not tolerate this. One day, Ramdas instructed Ambadas to cut a branch of a bilva tree. Following his guru's command, Ambadas climbed the tree to cut the branch. Due to his weight, the branch broke and he fell into a well. As he fell, he remembered Lord Shri Ram and saw Lord Shri Ram in the well. With the help of a rope sent by his companions, Ambadas came up and embraced Ramdas, who said, "Child, you are a disciple who follows orders. From now on, your name will be 'Kalyan'.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
