Gary McGowan (00:00) When was the last time you truly unplugged from work, even just for a few hours? Are you protecting your time and energy or are you constantly on? Welcome back my friends. This is Realty Chatter Daily, quick wins for realtors where we deliver short, actionable insights to help you thrive. I'm your host, Gary McGowan, and today we're talking about something crucial that we often overlook in real estate. Setting boundaries. Here's a personal story of mine. A number of years ago, my wife and I had tickets to see one of our favorite bands. I promised her we'd make a night out of it. But then right before we were supposed to leave, A client calls about putting in an offer, which is in already multiple offer situation. We both knew the offer could take a while. So my wife ended up taking her friend instead. I spent that night working through the details. And by the time I finished, the concert was over. And to make things worse, we didn't even get the deal. Missing out on that evening for something that could have been managed with a bit of planning really drove home the importance of boundaries. I could have had my business partner take care of that offer. Today's quick win set one clear boundary today. It doesn't have to be big, but make it something you stick to. Maybe it's a no work zone during family dinners, a cutoff time in the evening or a dedicated day each week to recharge. Communicate it clearly to your clients so they know when you're available and when you're not. Try something like I make it a priority to be fully present for my family during dinner, but I'll be happy to return calls between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Here's the insight. Setting boundaries doesn't make you less committed. It makes you more effective. When you're recharged, you're better able to serve your clients and be present for the people who matter most. So my friends, let's make boundaries a part of our success plan. Protect your time and see how it pays off in your energy, focus and overall happiness. And as always, stay motivated, keep laughing and keep thriving through real connections. This is Realty Chatter Daily. Quick wins for realtors where success is built on relationships.
