उत्तमा नीतिः उत्कृष्टेन क्रमेण

कदाचित् कश्चन राजा वैराग्यं प्राप्य संन्यासी जातः । भिक्षाटनसमये काचित् माता तस्मै त्रीन् तण्डुलकणान् दत्तवती । त्रीन् अंशान् ज्ञापयितुं त्रयः तण्डुलकणाः दत्ताः इति उक्त्वा ते च के इति कथयति सा । 'कामक्रोधलोभमोहादयः शत्रवः यदि भवता दूरे स्थाप्येरन् तर्हि भवतः सुरक्षितता सिद्धा । प्रतिदिनं परिश्रमः, योग्याभ्यासः इत्यादयः नियततया कृताः चेत् महती बुभुक्षा बाधते । तदा शुष्का रोटिका अपि परमस्वादुतया भासते । यदा शरीरश्रमः अधिकः भवेत् तदा एव  सुखनिद्रा प्राप्येत । अतः शरीरश्रमः भवतः अधिकः भवेत् सर्वदा' इति । 'उत्तमा नीतिः उत्कृष्टेन क्रमेण ज्ञापिता भवत्या' इति उक्त्वा राजा तां कृतज्ञतापूर्वकं नमस्कृत्य ततः अग्रे गतवान् ।

Once, a king renounced the world and became a monk. While begging, a mother gave him three grains of rice. She explained: ‘These three grains symbolize three lessons. First, if you keep away enemies like desire, anger, greed, and delusion, you will be safe. Second, with daily effort and disciplined practice, even a dry bread tastes sweet when hunger is great. Third, when the body is well-exerted, only then comes peaceful sleep. Therefore, let hard work always be your companion’. The king, moved by her wise teaching, bowed with gratitude and went on his way.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
