October 4, 2026 - The temple is measured, the holy city is trampled, and two witnesses prophesy in the pattern of Moses and Elijah. They represent the church in its prophetic vocation. The witnesses do not possess conventional power. They testify, suffer, die, and appear defeated. Babylon celebrates over their bodies. Yet God raises them. The church’s apparent vulnerability is not evidence of its failure. Its vocation is not to preserve itself at every cost but to bear faithful witness to the kingdom. The world may silence witnesses, but it cannot prevent God from vindicating their testimony. The seventh trumpet announces the destination of history: the kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of God and his Christ.
