A strong Google Business Profile is one of the best ways to generate more leads. You should also build citations, post regularly and upload new photos. That is always the first step for generating more local leads. Kasra Dash Step number two is creating dedicated service pages for each locksmith service. These should be SEO optimised pages on your website. When you build out individual service pages, you can rank each page on Google. You also increase the chances of your Google Business Profile showing up for those same keywords. So you indirectly get more phone calls. James Dooley If you want more local leads, another option is PPC lead generation. That is pay per click on Google or Bing and it targets bottom of the funnel keywords. It can work well but you must hire a good PPC agency. You need someone who can prevent click fraud and build a proper negative keyword list so you avoid paying for job applications or irrelevant searches. PPC works, but in the wrong hands it wastes a lot of money. Kasra Dash You have also got Meta ads. That covers Facebook and Instagram. When someone goes on Facebook and scrolls, they might see your ad. You can run lead form ads which never take the user off Facebook. They are easy to set up but quality can be lower unless you add more qualifying questions. You can also run conversion ads that send users to your website so they fill out your contact form. Both options work. James Dooley Another way to grow your locksmith leads is organic social media. You can post on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram. There are lots of platforms. Reddit and Quora are also great places because people ask questions and you can answer them. Organic social media is free and it helps generate local leads. Kasra Dash Organic social is a volume game. You want to upload consistently. If you choose a daily or weekly schedule, stick to it. For example, aim to upload five videos a week. Platforms like YouTube and Twitter reward consistency. James Dooley What is your view on using AI agents to automate social media? For example using N8N to crop videos and auto publish them on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Artificial intelligence is everywhere in lead generation right now. Would you team up with an AI consultant to set it up? Kasra Dash Yes, you can absolutely go down that route. You can set up AI agents to edit videos and autopublish across platforms. But another priority is AI search. More people are starting to search inside AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok. Google still gets billions of searches a day but AI search is growing. If your brand does not show up in those systems, you will lose leads. So locksmith companies must think about AI search optimisation as well. James Dooley If you want more local business leads, you can also team up with tradespeople platforms. There are sites like Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader and Rated People. All of them can generate local leads. You must track your KPIs. Track your cost per lead, cost per acquisition and your return on investment. These sites can work very well. The last stat I saw was around 16.1 percent conversion for inbound compared to 1.4 percent for outbound. Outbound needs huge volume whether that is cold calling, cold email or LinkedIn outreach. You often need more staff. People think outbound leads are free but they are not. You still pay for sending emails and paying staff to chase them. Inbound is far more efficient. James Dooley What about real time leads? Some companies want leads to come through instantly. Do real time leads convert better? Kasra Dash Yes, real time leads are very important. Our internal stat showed that real time leads convert around 63 percent higher. We also found that responding in under a minute massively increased conversion. We used to think five minutes was good but under one minute was the real difference. When the enquiry comes in, if you call or email them immediately, you win more work.
