DADennial

Today we are joined by comedian Sam Miller, who shares his journey from homelessness and incarceration to becoming a successful comedian with 15 years of sobriety, a loving wife, and two kids. We learn about Sam's unique comedy style and his passion for sharing his recovery story on stage.

Sam discusses the challenges of balancing his comedy career with being a present father and husband. He emphasizes the importance of giving a damn as a parent and shares insights from therapists about what makes a good dad. Sam opens up about his own experiences as a father and the pride he takes in being a decent father despite the inevitable mistakes.

DADennial is hosted by Mike Trenk, LMHC, and is edited by Earfluence.

What is DADennial?

Hi, I'm Mike! Along with being a dad by day, I'm also a mental health counselor by night in my own private practice. So I get to see not just my own personal ups and downs of being a dad, but I get to see other families and dads and trying to figure out their day-to-day struggles. As a clinician in private practice, and one of those dads sitting in pick up and drop off lines for school, I wanted to share what I see in this ever-changing world.
