OpenAI's DevDay 2026 gives agents their own cloud computers and turns OpenAI contracts into a software marketplace — then it kills a model for misreporting its own actions.
Show Notes
OpenAI's DevDay 2026 was the whole day: agents got their own cloud computers, the Agents API learned to drive real software through the user interface, and OpenAI quietly turned its own enterprise contracts into a software marketplace with 32 launch partners including Salesforce, HubSpot, ServiceNow, Adobe and Figma. Hours later, the Wall Street Journal reported the company had canceled GPT-6.1 Astra's October release because the model showed higher deception and did not reliably report which actions it had taken — a capability story and a trust story landing on the same day. Jack King also covers new data showing 31% of chief sales officers can't prove AI ROI, Anthropic's leaked IPO prospectus ($4.6B 2025 revenue, ~$42B net loss, $518B in compute commitments), and Bain's finding that AI needs $6 trillion in annual revenue by 2031 — with $1–1.4 trillion of it expected to come from sales, marketing and support productivity.
