Moving Markets

US equities are on course for their best week of the year. Apple disappointed with its earnings release after the US close. Companies that surprised to the upside have seen their share prices rise sharply since the end of the week. The Bank of England stayed on the sidelines but remains in inflation-fighting mode. Overall, global equities could be on the cusp of a year-end rally. Tim Gagie, FX/PM PB Sales Geneva, notes that there has been a shift away from the US dollar this week.
