The Vegas Golden Knights (24-13-12) saw their third-period comeback bid fall short in a 4-3 loss to the Boston Bruins (29-20-2) on Thursday at TD Garden.
The Bruins jumped out early, scoring three first-period goals from Charlie McAvoy, Elias Lindholm, and Tanner Jeannot, and added a fourth from David Pastrnak in the second period. Vegas got on the board in the third when Jack Eichel scored on a rebound, followed by Tomas Hertl converting on a power-play pass from Mark Stone. Pavel Dorofeyev added a late goal after Vegas pulled the goalie, cutting the deficit to one.
