However, it got a lot of backlash from the intelligentsia of Singapore, resulting in an open letter. But why were they pissed? Elsewhere, John Chu says he should have made brown characters in his “Crazy Rich Asians” film “more human”. But is it just a PR stunt or does he mean it?
