This edition of Saturday Night's Main Event positions itself as something of a setup for one of the greatest super shows of all time, Wrestlemania III. Unfortunately, even with Hogan versus Orndorff in a steel cage, "Macho Man" Randy Savage battling George "The Animal" Steele, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in a grudge match with Adrian Adonis, and the Junkyard Dog refusing to bow to Harley Race, the show ended up being less than great.
