We’re continuing our study of the Book of James with the second half of Chapter 1. This week we dive into phrases we’ve heard before, but want to truly activate within our faith: Being Quick to Listen and Slow to Speak. Not always an easy task, but easier with James teaches us about what is produced in us and how it is produced.

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” James 1:19-20, NIV

Make It Yours: Prepare and Reflect 
  1. Read James 2:1-13 at least twice in the coming week to prepare for next week’s teaching. 
  2. Journal and expand on what you’ve learned this week and/or take notes of what you’re learning as you read the text and prepare for the coming week in the first half of Chapter 2.
