Mirza Tihic is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship and an entrepreneurship research fellow at Syracuse University. Mirza oversees all post-engagement support of veterans and military family members who have completed training through the institute’s portfolio of entrepreneurship programs. Mirza explains why 50% of entrepreneurs struggle with marketing and sales and shares a healthy approach to sales and rejection. He discusses the fear of sales in the entrepreneurial community and the importance of preparation and positioning. Mirza shares information about the opportunities open to veterans. He emphasizes that many institutions offer support and resources for veterans and their families and says that the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University is just one of them. Mirza says that it is important to follow your passion in business and life and that once you find your purpose and passion, money will follow.
