योग्यतापरीक्षा

कश्चित् तरुणः आत्मानं शिष्यत्वेन स्वीकर्तुम् आचार्यं निवेदयति । तस्य योग्यतासामर्थ्यादिकं बहुधा परीक्ष्य सः उत्तीर्णः इति वदन् अपि एकसप्ताहानन्तरं निर्णयं श्रावयिष्यामि इति आचार्यः अवदत् । अनन्तरदिने एव आचार्यः कञ्चित् धनिकम् आहूय तरुणम् उन्नतस्थाने अधिकं वेतनम् दत्त्वा नियोजय इति अवदत् । तद्वदेव सः धनिकः अकरोत् । सप्ताहानन्तरं तं तरुणम् आहूय 'तव शिष्यत्वम् अङ्गीकृतं मया' इति यदा आचार्यः अवदत् तदा तरुणः शिरः अवनमय्य 'इदानीं प्रभूतवेतनयुक्तः उद्योगः प्राप्तः मया । कथं  त्यजामि?’ इति अवदत् । तदा अचार्यः 'अवसरे प्राप्ते अपि यः तं परित्यज्य आगच्छेत् सः एव योग्यः शिष्यः भवितुम् अर्हति' इति अवद्त् । वस्तुत्वं ज्ञातवान् सः तरुणः उद्योगं त्यक्त्वा आश्रमं प्रति आगतवान् ।

A young man sought discipleship under a wise teacher. Though qualified, the teacher delayed acceptance for a week and arranged a high-paying job for him through a wealthy person. When the teacher later accepted him as a disciple, the young man hesitated due to his new job. The teacher replied, “Only the one who is willing to abandon such an opportunity and still come is truly worthy of being a disciple” Realizing this truth, the young man renounced the job and joined the ashram.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।

Among these, the children's stories titled “Balamodini” are featured. The series is named “Balamodini” as well. The hallmark of these stories is their short length and simple language. It is believed that listeners will appreciate this effort to make these stories available in Sanskrit. These are the first stories to be podcasted in the Sanskrit language within this field.
