हृदयस्य अवगमनम्

रामः यदा वनवासं प्रति प्रस्थितवान् मार्गे एकं कण्टकं रामस्य पादे लग्नम् । वेदनाम् अनुभवन् सः भूदेवीं प्रार्थितवान् 'मातः! यदा भरतः मम अन्वेषणं कुर्वन् अत्र आगच्छेत् तदवसनरे मार्गे कण्टकानि शिलाखण्डाः च यथा न भवेयुः तथा अनुगृहाण' इति । 'किमर्थम् एवं प्रार्थितम्?’ इति कुतूहलेन सीता अपृच्छत् । तदा रामः अवदत् 'अन्वेषणसमये यदि भरतेन कण्टकवेधः प्राप्येत तर्हि सः चिन्तयेत् यत् मम अग्रजः एतादृशैः कियद्भिः कण्टकैः विद्धः स्यात् इति न ज्ञायते इति । तदीयं हृदयं नितरां व्यथितं भवेत् । अतः एव मया भूदेवी तथा प्रार्थिता' इति ।

When Rama set out for exile, a thorn pierced his foot along the way. Feeling the pain, he prayed to Mother Earth: “When Bharata comes here searching for me, please ensure that there are no thorns or stones on the path.” Curious, Sita asked, “Why did you pray so?” Rama replied: “If Bharata were pricked by a thorn during his search, he would worry, thinking how many such thorns might have pierced his elder brother. His heart would be deeply troubled. That is why I prayed to Mother Earth.”

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
