Salena shares how she went from waitressing her way through college and earning an unusual e-business degree to accounting at UNF, eventually finding her way into parking and steadily growing into leadership. Along the way, she helped transform UNF's parking operation, embraced new technology, learned to advocate for her own career growth, and discovered an entire industry and professional community she hadn't known existed.
Brooke and Salena also get into self-advocacy, building teams that don't need you to function, learning strategic patience, why women need to brag about themselves a little more, and the value of admitting when you don't know something and finding people who do. Salena also shares why one of her biggest professional regrets is not finding mentorship sooner.
