शासनस्य मुख्यं लक्ष्यम्

कश्चन युवराजः यौवराज्याभिशेकात् पूर्वं स्वस्य विद्यागुरुं अपृच्छत् - ‘राजा शक्तिसम्पन्नः कथं भवति इति?’। तदा अंशत्रयं वदति गुरुः -’प्रजाः आहाराभावं न अनुभवेयुः, शस्त्रास्त्राणां अभावाः देशे न उत्पद्येत, राज्ञि शासने च प्रजानां विश्वासः विनष्टः न भवेत् । त्रिषु अपि प्रजाहितम् एव शासनस्य मुख्यं लक्ष्यं भवति । राजत्वम् अधिकारसूचकं पदं न, अपि तु प्रजासेवकत्वसूचकं स्थानम्' इति । उत्तमस्य बोधनस्य प्राप्त्या सन्तुष्टः युवराजः आचार्यं भक्त्या प्रणम्य ततः निर्गतवान् ।

Before his coronation, a young prince asked his Guru, ‘How does a king become powerful?’. The Guru replied with three points - ‘The people should not suffer from lack of food, there should not be a shortage of weapons in the country, and the people's trust in the king's governance should not be lost. In all three cases, the welfare of the people should be the primary goal of governance. Kingship is not a sign of power, but a position of service to the people’. Satisfied with the excellent teaching, the prince bowed to his Guru with devotion and left.

What is बालमोदिनी?

सम्भाषणसन्देशः इति संस्कृतमासिकपत्रिका (https://sambhashanasandesha.in) । एतस्यां पत्रिकायां प्रकाशिताः लेखाः, कथाः, बालकथाः, वार्ताः इत्यादिकं सर्वम् अपि सरलसंस्कृतेन एव प्रकाश्यते । तत्रत्याः “बालमोदिनी”नामिकाः बालकथाः अत्र प्रसार्यन्ते । अतः अस्याः शृङ्खलायाः नाम अपि “बालमोदिनी” एव । लघु गात्रं, सरला भाषा च कथानां विशेषः । प्रत्येकं कथा काञ्चित् नीतिं बोधयति । बालकथाः आबालवृद्धं सर्वेषां प्रियाः । संस्कृतेन ताः श्रोतुम् उपलब्धाः भवन्तु इति एषः प्रयत्नः श्रोतृभ्यः अवश्यं रोचेत इति विश्वासः । संस्कृतक्षेत्रे संस्कृतेन पॉड्कास्ट् क्रियमाणाः एताः प्रप्रथमाः कथाः इति सगौरवम् उद्घोष्यते ।
