It's important to note that recovery isn't about simply avoiding substance abuse, but more about taking action and making changes in our lives. Developing healthy coping mechanisms is key to having an outlet for everyday stresses that pop up in life. Without developing hobbies, healthy routines and outlets for stress, we put ourselves at risk of going back to old patterns and behaviors.
