Scott Nolan

I was fortunate enough to sit down and talk with Scott Nolan. I’m a big fan of his and it was so much fun to get to interview him. Scott’s an accomplished singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Winnipeg, Canada. He has a very rare and unique sound that I absolutely love and I hope you will too. Scott has worked with artists such as Adam Carroll, Mary Gauthier, Hayes Carll, and Fred Eaglesmith among others. Not only is Scott an amazing singer-songwriter, he’s also an astounding poet and collage artist. He has a book of poetry entitled The Moon Was a Feather and he posts his collage art regularly on his Facebook and Instagram. What is Jack Barksdale's Roots Revival?

American Songwriter wrote “Jack Barksdale has insights and awareness far beyond people twice his age, and he’s able to put them into songs that touch listeners." NPR.org said “Jack Barksdale is special.” and Premier Guitar said "Barksdale's talent is rare. He shines with earnest, unjaded passion on a foundation of will and an ability to connect.”

Jack Barksdale is a folk/blues/americana singer/songwriter from Texas. Inspired by folk, rock, and blues legends, Jack started performing original music at the age of nine and has already shared the stage with Wynonna Judd, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Junior Brown, John Fullbright, and Hayes Carll.

Recently Jack launched a podcast focused on songwriters and songwriting called Jack Barksdale's Roots Revival Podcast. His single “Gone” has garnered industry attention and well over 1.6 million streams on Spotify. In March 2022 Jack released his first full length album "Death of a Hummingbird." In June 2019 Jack released a live album recorded at famed Niles City Sound in Fort Worth, TX. And in September 2018, Jack released his debut EP, Revival.

Jack tours nationally and wows audiences with lyrics wise beyond his years. Jack plays guitar, slide guitar, harmonica, mandolin, piano, and ukulele, but identifies first and foremost as a songwriter.
