Show Notes

Animation studio Laika have returned to the silver screen with their latest stop-motion feature Kubo And The Two Strings. Laika have consistently delivered beautifully crafted, critically admired films that have never quite lived up to box office expectations.

Kubo And The Two Strings is somewhat of a change for the studio - an Eastern influenced film with epic fight scenes and mythology is certainly different than Trolls, Zombies and evil Stepmothers - will this new epic tale find an audience?

Join Matt & Jon as they discuss the trailer for Kubo And The Two Strings. Then - after the film has been released - they return to discuss the feature itself and end up ranting about the state of animation in Hollywood.

What is The PrePost Film Review?

In each episode of The PrePost Film Review hosts Jon Asquith and Matt Stephenson discuss a film over two distinct periods.

First - brief, spoiler free impressions of a trailer upon its release. Followed by a spoiler-filled review recorded months later once the film hits cinemas.

A thoughtful and occasionally funny look at how trailers represent films.
