You’ve heard the expression, “steal my joy.” If anything 2020 has taught us, it’s that nothing can steal a person’s joy. If it’s really joy, that is. True joy can’t be taken, but perspective can be really damaged especially as circumstances change. When difficulty or worse, trauma, come, people need the source of true joy more than ever. Joy doesn’t mean we’re naively happy or ignore problems in our lives and in the world. It means we know the source of light and life and we stand ready, in community, in spite of hardship, to celebrate Jesus and apply Jesus to any and everything.
