Born in Mexico City, now living in North Carolina, Pastor David went to Cambell and Duke University and serves at the Point Church. David shares his story of not really belonging anywhere.

Show Notes

Both of David's parents are Peruvian. Their family moved to Mexico when his father was 19 and he came to study. He was called into ministry and then went back to Peru. He came to the US at 15 years old. Within a couple of years, his father was leading a church and he went to Campbell University. He wanted to be a doctor but discovered that was not his calling. He wanted to help people. He was serving in his dad's church and felt the call to go to an English speaking church. In 2013 he joined The Point Church and has been a part of that growing movement ever since.

"The thing about segregation or biases is that it's not only raised into us, but it's also culture, economics, social economics, also education. What I saw in Mexico, because of the environment I was in was a lot of people being disregarded or rejected because of where they came from. Or, the money they had and they didn't have. I was fortunate maybe because I looked a certain way or, but I didn't have the money either." - David

God showed David very early on, and his grandparents and parents really guided me that the church is a multinational organization and not just one country. God has really shown him that He wants to eliminate all that, and he's on the move. He's drawing people from every race, every country, every culture, social and ethnic origin.
