NC State graduate Vivian Howard's empire includes 4 restaurants - Chef and the Farmer in Kinston NC, Benny's Big Time in Wilmington NC, Handy & Hot in Charleston SC, and the new Lenoir, also in Charleston SC. She's the author of two acclaimed books, This Will Make It Taste Good and Deep Run Roots. Her TV show, A Chef's Life, was a huge hit and an inside look into her family life. She has risen to become a celebrity chef and entrepreneur, but her passion and roots come from storytelling.
