Our ideal innocent person is someone who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time with a relatively uncomplicated life e.g. no affairs, no gang associations, no illegal wrongdoing i.e. smoking cannabis etc. But the truth is that the ideal innocent person rarely exists because, afterall they like us are only human. The Innocence Project London (IPL) is a pro bono organisation where students work with lawyers and academics to deconstruct claims of innocence from convicted individuals who have exhausted the criminal appeals process, with the aim of submitting applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) .
