Pivot The Path

This week on Pivot The Path, we're coming off a wild final round at the Wyndham Championship — the last stop before the FedEx Cup Playoffs field gets locked in.

Michael Brennan once again proved his nerve under pressure, with a final round -6, including 5 consecutive birdies to hold off a strong, albeit, up and down round from Beau Hossler - searching for his maiden victory. As a family business, we sincerely find joy in Mum and Dad being the first to congratulate their son with the powerful words, “We’re going to the Masters”. Trophies and checks are nice - a strong family unit is key!!

On the flip side, Brooks Koepka walked off Sedgefield admitting he has no confidence over the ball right now. Same sport, same pressure, two completely different results.

That contrast is exactly where we're headed this week: A quick round is a good round.

The research backs up what we preach at SSWING: the best players commit to their pre-shot in 10-15 seconds increments. No hovering, no second-guessing. Under pressure, golfers tend to start overthinking their mechanics instead of trusting them — and that's when things fall apart. Speed isn't about rushing. It's about not giving doubt a seat at the table.
