You shall not murder. Most of us read that and breathe easy, we've never killed anyone. But Jesus doesn't let us off that easily. In Matthew 5, he says that anger in the heart, contempt in the mouth, are the same root as the act itself.
This message takes the sixth commandment deeper than the act of violence, into the playground, the bus ride home, the group chat, and the staff room. Every person you encounter is made in the image of God, precious and not for sale. The question isn't just whether you've thrown a punch. It's whether the people who leave your orbit leave feeling honoured, valued, and taken seriously.
